I wouldn't think you would have any loss of sound fidelity. The main drivers are all front facing and the only driver that you have on top is the bass port (and bass is non-directional anyway and this speaker is not your main bass source, it just rounds out the sound). As long as you have some clearance, you should be fine but I wouldn't "stuff" it in any space without adequate clearance all around the speaker.
