• You might be able to get around it by using the Hammer Mill app. I have gotten a number of printers to work using it. And I have had a number that didn't. App is free

• Yes, it does support air print. Prints straight from my iPhone 6. But there are also so many other ways to print even if you are not connected to the same wifi network. You can print from the app, you can email the printer, you can connect the printer to your Dropbox, etc...
