“I read a few reviews that said they undervolted, but it appears the option is locked out (due to Plundervolt?). How do you unlock it? Reflash to an earlier BIOS or a custom one?”

The voltage modification setting has been locked out as this laptop contains the processor with a security vulnerability (weird I know). Reflashing an earlier version is an option but you'll be introducing a security threat. I believe if anything the configuration in this laptop is overvolted to where the cooling system struggles to keep up when sustaining 100% load.
