If screen tearing is a problem, your best bet is to turn V-Sync on and find game settings where the framerate is pegged to 60Hz constantly. That might mean lowering settings to medium, and/or going with 1920x1080 resolution. V-Sync is not as bad as people make it out to be... in fact, the old behavior of G-Sync was to behave like V-Sync once FPS matched the refresh rate. (Now I think the default is to start screen tearing once framerate is higher...?)
