“I know USB 3 isn't used only used for mouses, but why is the USB 3 port on the right side of the laptop when most, if not all people would use their mouse on the right side? I'm not saying it's unusable but it is somewhat of an inconvenience .”

The placement of an USB port depends upon the design of the particular laptop model. Each of the Dell laptop model is designed for a specific type of usage and keeping in mind about the accessories that needs to be connected to it as well for optimal usage.
