- Answer I had this computer, It can be upgraded up 64gb of ram. I done it and it worked great. You can also replace the 2230 form factor hard drive with the full size 2280 form factor up to 4tb. I don't know why these computer companies keep the truth from the consumer, seems to be counterproductive in my opinion. Also, just my opinion, but the Ryzen 5 version is better than the Ryzen 7 version. Had them both and done the upgrades to both. The Ryzen 7 versions built in GPU was constantly having issue's.

- Answer Many companies are preloading MS Office (now called Microsoft 366), for a free 30-day trial. At the end of the 30-days, you can either opt for one of the subscriptions available, or buy a version of your choice. Also, MS allows for free, limited use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, one at a time, operating in a browser. Furthermore, in case you are unaware, non-MS spreadsheet programs (as well as Publishing, Writing, etc.) are available from other manufacturers, for free. Some people even prefer these, as they can have better integration between the different programs in the Suite. Kingsoft is one.

- Answer No. There are a number of reasons why internal optical drives are largely unavailable, though they can still be found, mostly (but not exclusively) in "hardened" laptops that look (and weigh) like bricks and are used in construction, emergency situations, and the military. Or through the refurbished/used/ secondhand market. There are a number of reasons for this: 1. Modern laptops (and desktops) are pushing to be smaller and weigh less, with many companies advertising their computers as “ultra thin” or “easily portable.” Optical drives significantly add weight (about half a pound) and bulk (12 cm. diameter). 2. Even Blu-ray discs top out at 128 GB, far below HDDs, SSDs, or pen/flash drives on a per-centimeter basis. 3. With the advent of fast network connectivity, cloud storage, software distributed via the Internet, and growing use of USB 3 and even USB 4 (with raw link speed of up to 80 Gbps), integrated optical drives have largely become obsolete. As mentioned in the other reply, should you need an optical drive, they are still available, at a modest cost, as external, portable units. If you need a laptop with an integrated optical drive, look elsewhere, as noted

- Answer Laptop manufacturers are tending to omit the Ethernet port, especially on lower priced models. This allows them to save some space and weight, as well as lower prices. The exception is usually laptops aimed at business or gaming. So, as noted in another reply, you will need a USB-to-Ethernet port adapter.

- Answer College student here, the laptop has really good performance as it can run pretty much everything ive put on it really well and haven't had any issues with performance so far it can even do some light gaming. I do recommend upgrading the RAM to 16GB like I did as it would tend to studder at some points with just the base 8GB

- Answer I chose to upgrade mine to 32gb of RAM. I've tried to run many programs, multiple videos, websites, etc. I can't even go past 14gb of ram usage when I run it all at once. I couldn't even make the laptop stutter. Personally, I would go for 32gb of RAM. I paid about $95 for 2x 16gb Crucial DDR5 SO-DIMM.

- Answer This kind of discrepancy occurs all the time. I think what happens is that the company designs with a certain goal in mind, and then exceeds this goal by happenstance, but won't quote the higher limit because then they would be legally liable for every computer with that model number to meet those specs.
