“what type of headphone should one use? i tried a typical ear phone (Panasonic RP-HJE120-K) but the sound keeps coming from the laptop speakers & doesn't transfer to the earphone. I also tried my iPhone's earphone, same outcome. does it have to be a combo?”

I work from home using this laptop, and I use USB headphones. I’ve had no problems at all with them. I’ve also used standard headphones that only cost me $5 and they work well also.
