I would say anything with at least an i-3 processor that serves its purpose. You don't need something flashy and expensive. I had gotten a dell for college and it works great. I'd recommend Office 365 University subscription (You get to keep word all through college and it updates to the newest version every year) and some sort of protection like Kaspersky.
