Not sure what you are asking here, but I can tell you if you have a cell phone, you can sync it to this laptop. This allows you to answer, text, and retrieve documents and pictures directly from your phone. Syncing is optional. Otherwise, no, you do not need a phone to use this computer. You do need internet for uploads and downloads of programs and e-mail. There is no dvd/cd player.
