• The solid state drive is very fast, but very expensive. So you have a small solid state drive to allow for fast booting and access to files you use a lot and a large cheaper slower drive to store stuff you use less often.

• The data transfer rate from Solid State Drive is faster than HDD which improves the speed of the laptop. However, SSD does not have the storage capacity that the hard drive can offer economically.
