Sound like you have the rotation setting in locked position. Do a search at the bottom of Windows and type rotation or screen rotation

You should see what looks like a comment / notification box in lower right corner of screen just left of the time and date. If you click on this you will see a selection box of Tablet Mode. If you click on this, the screen should rotate unless you've disabled screen rotation.
