Did you try going to Dell support to locate documentation? They should have the information you are looking for there. As for a pen, I would assume you can find other pens on the Internet. I know I bought one from Best Buy from the Bamboo company that works great with one of my other laptops. Since your box was open, the pen may be in the laptop. There is a spot at the top of the keyboard near the folding hinge for it to go.
