Can this run linux distro Ubunto 16.04 LTS smoothly? null

Absolutely it can! I bought it specifically because of this. I run Linux Mint daily which is a spin off from Ubuntu / now Debian. I also have ran Ubuntu server and mate on this as well just to see where the performance was at. Overall I am very happy with the performance and driver repository that Ubuntu and other Debian OS's have for this laptop.
