The screen is very crisp - and looks great for movies. Sound is decent - I would say GREAT. Not many laptops have "GREAT" sound. You're best off to purchase a nice pair of active-noise cancelling bluetooth headphones and listen that way - that would be PERFECT for on an AIRPLANE!
