Too soon to tell how long my battery will last (I got mine in March, 2024), but generally Lithium-ion batteries in electronics are good for 3-5 years, depending on how you use them. There is no external battery pack. Like most thin laptops, the battery is a small, thin pack that is only accessible from inside the chassis. If you’re comfortable disassembling and reassembling a laptop, you can replace it when the time comes.

For a power user, a reduction in run time generally may be experienced within 18 months. We recommend buying a new Dell laptop battery when the run time does not meet your needs.
