“Does the CPU fan kick in often during normal utilization (i.e. browsing the web, viewing youtube, watching a movie) or is it pretty quiet? Does the fan run quite a bit or is it mostly off? Thank you very much.”

I can say that you can hear fan noise on high loads but that is not annoying. It will be audible only if you are in very quiet room. On normal loads like watching videos,browsing and while running IDE's like eclipse it will be off. I can say that it is very good laptop in terms of performance,sound quality and quietness.

The yoga 900 that I tried seemed to always be making some wierd noise and it bugged the heck out of me. My roommate couldn't hear the yoga running but I could. This inspiron "starlord" model is very quiet.
