The battery is not hot swappable like you could do in the past. it is replaceable if you are have any tech back ground. Dell also sells an external battery Dell Power Companion (18000 mAh)part no PW7015L that will work as a way to charge the laptop off the grid. I have this Dell Power Companion on order. battery life so far is decent. Because the laptop is extremely bright, you can reasonable get away with working at only 25% brightness. Yes. I said 25%

For example Google Chrome will drain your battery much faster than MSFT Edge or Opera. The battery is 56 wHr, 4 cell battery per Dell's website
