This is an answer that I was able 2 get from the Geek Squad. The difference is in the number of electronics it will cover & the length of the contract. I suggest U call the Geek Squad or appear in person at one of the Best Buy stores. They usually answer questions even if U do not have a contract with them--its called, good business in attracting new customers. Good luck, JCP
