This laptop has a USB-C Display Port. I did a lot of research on this topic over the past few hours and I wanted to share it to hopefully save others some time. USB-C is an umbrella term used to describe a new shape of USB and, in itself, is not an appropriate description of a port's capabilities. These ports are replacing the classic rectangular ports we've been seeing in computers for some time now, which are known as USB-A ports. -) USB-Cs in computers may carry the designations of DP (Display Port), DP/Power Delivery, or Thunderbolt 3. -) Thunderbolt 3 can do everything - including high speed data transfer and charging at higher wattage. It also offers daisy-chaining of devices. A term to describe connecting multiple devices in sequence for the purpose of power and data transfer. -) DP/Power and delivery can do a little less than Thunderbolt 3: it cannot transfer data as fast, but still can charge at higher wattage. It cannot daisy chain. -) DP can do the least compared to the aforementioned; it can transfer data as fast as DP/Power and delivery, but DP cannot charge at higher wattage. DP can charge at low wattage. It cannot daisy chain. -) DP and DP/Power and Delivery, for the most part, can transfer as fast as 3.1 USB A ports. Per some articles, some USB-C types may only possess transfer speed of 2.0 USB A ports, but i have yet to actually find one of these examples. -) 3.1 USB A ports are the same thing as 3.0 USB A ports. -) 3.0/3.1 USB A ports are faster than 2.0 USB A ports. -) Hubs than contain a host of different port types (including Ethernet, SD card, USB A, etc) appear to be available for non-designated USB-C ports as well as for USB-C ports that are designated as Thunderbolt 3. Hope this helps someone, who was as confused as I was!
