whats the battery life on this laptop? null

Of course it depends on what you are doing. For general internet and light word processing I get 6 hours or so, more if I run it on battery saver mode.

I have had this 3 years now and the battery does not stay charged for more than an hour.

The battery operating time varies depending on operating conditions and can significantly reduce under certain power-intensive conditions.
