QuestionNew to pc gaming and wondering if i use hdmi from pc to receiver to tv will this also carry 7.1 audio? If not how do i get the 7.1 audio to my receiver? Looking to get into pc gaming with this as my entry level gaming pc. Surround sound is a must.

- Answer For all the people like me who are new to pc gaming like me and interested in jumping in, i know it can be a little intimidating. As far “justhelping” who answered this, i had posed the same question to a rep at dell and their answer was far less rude and trying to intimidate. I will never understand why people do that when u ask a question. So for all those who have this question and are thinking about pc gaming, after buying and trying here are the answers: Yes it does have 7.1 audio that is supported by hdmi Yes you can use any tv with an hdmi and it will carry both video and audio in the same signal Yes you can run this directly to a tv or you can run this to an av receiver and have it handle your audio and pass thru the video to your tv, monitor or projector Here is the message from dell on twitter: Greetings, Welcome to Dell Social Support! We would like to inform you that Inspiron 5675 is a Desktop computer and it has an Integrated 7.1 channel Intel High Definition Audio by Realtek. Having said that, the HDMI supports both video and audio output from the computer. Based on this, we can inform you that the HDMI should support both audio and video outputs from this computer. Kindly let us know if you have any other queries or concerns. ^DL Guys dont be intimidated by the sometimes PC Gaming bullies out there, just ask the right people. As for a specialized gaming monito, no you dont need that either. I bought this and it works just great as expectected with video and sound thru HDMI.
