Dear Sarah; You need to plug them from a tower that has either a VGA or HDMI connection. You could have a tower that has two HDMI connectors; that would work, too. But plugging the monitors to each other is a NO GO. They are not meant to be connected together, but rather connected to a source, like a tower or a laptop. Good question, though. Best of luck,
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A little more explanation for you. Each monitor needs to be independently attached to the desktop or laptop you're using. You can't "daisy chain" the two together, or run both monitors off of one cable. This monitor has two input cable options: HDMI and VGA. Each monitor should come with one HDMI cable, so if there are two HDMI output slots on your computer, then you should be good to go. If your desktop or laptop have a VGA connection (its a blue 15-pin connection with two screws on either side to secure the cable), then you will need to either buy a VGA cord and attach it that way, or you could buy a VGA to HDMI adapter and use the HDMI cord that comes with the monitor. Other options are DVI-D connections on the back of your computer which you'll probably have if you are running a dedicated graphics card (GPU). Its similar to the VGA connection, but is white with a 19-pin connector. For that, you'll need an HDMI to DVI-D adapter that can be used with the HDMI cord that comes with the monitor. As you can see, a lot will depend on your PC and what connections it comes with. All of the above adapters and cords I mentioned can be purchased at BestBuy, or any other store that sells computers and computer accessories.
