A great resource is the User's Guide where Dell discolses the Product Features on Page 6 for this specific monitor: "BFR/PVC-Reduced (Its circuit boards are made from BFR/PVC-free laminates). Arsenic-Free glass and Mercury-Free for the panel only." Kudos for your concerns about disposal/recycling of the monitor's afterlife.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I cannot speak for mercury regarding being 100% mercury free, but I do know that most major monitor/TV manufacturers stopped using it or severely limited its use in their displays many years ago after public pressure. It started not long after the first LCD panels came out to replace the old CRT monitors and TVs that were full of mercury - about ten years ago. Regarding arsenic-free material in the manufacturing, I know of no monitor that is 100% free of them. It's impossible based on the manufacturing materials required to make them (plastics specifically). Some makers may advertise 100% arsenic-free glass for the LCD panel, but that doesn't mean there's not any in the internals. Even if there are, regarding a monitor, it would be an extremely minuscule amount.
