Using the "cont, alt, delete" buttons to lock my laptop and then turn off the monitor. Hope this helps? Sleep, go to settings for sleep. Change to "never" sleep. The cable that came with my Dell plugs into my laptop. That is all you need, plus the power cable. laptop.
