I will be using it for Xbox Series X. Unfortunately the "best" monitor for Series X would include all of the bells and whistles a high-end TV would include: -HDR, equivalent of DisplayHDR1000 or better (which requires local dimming) -120Hz refresh rate -4K resolution -HDMI 2.1 port -Dolby Vision -FreeSync Premium (I'm not sure if Xbox will or can use FreeSync Premium Pro) There is no monitor on the market as of November 2020 that checks all of those boxes. This monitor will enable 120Hz refresh rate and FreeSync on Series X, that's about the best you can hope for unless you are willing to pay ~$1000+ for better HDR or wait for monitors with HDMI 2.1 support so you can run 4K at 120Hz.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most of us are hardcore online gamers and 1080 or 1440 at a higher refresh rate like 120 vs 4k at 60hz is a huge advantage in games like CoD or any online shooter, and the reason this is a good option for xbsx/s.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I probably wouldn't use it for XSX, but that's not to say you can't. Series X supports 4K and this monitor is only 1440p. Games will still play and look amazing, but there are definitely cheaper options out there. This is probably more suited for pc gaming.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this a little over a month ago from best buy. URL: Dell - S2721DGF 27" Gaming IPS QHD FreeSync and G-SYNC compatible monitor with HDR (DisplayPort, HDMI) - Accent Grey Item Total:$481.48 Product Price:$449.99 Sales Tax, Fees & Surcharges:$31.49 No where does it state anywhere on the Box or Websites that this monitor is not capable to run HDR on Xbox. Go right here to Dell Support - URL: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000187148/dell-gaming-monitors-support-for-gaming-consoles#... S2721DGF, S2722DGM, S3222DGM, AW2721D, AW3423DW, AW3821DW *1 - The PlayStation does not support the 2560 x 1440 resolution. *2 - The monitors do not support the 3840 x 2160 resolution. *3 - You must select Performance Mode in PlayStation 5 Game Presets. See Frequently Asked Questions for more details. *4 - Only the AW2721D, AW3423DW, and AW3821DW supports VRR on the PS5. Note: The S2721DGF monitor supports HDR but Xbox, and PlayStation only support HDR content in 4K resolution. Hence the S2721DGF does not support 4K, only SDR mode can be used with gaming consoles. NICE SO I SPENT $449 at Best Buy, cant return this monitor and im stuck with SDR when i was specifically told this would max out all my settings. I even bought 8k fiber HDMI cables and still doesnt work. But with my ACER Nitro, same HDMI cables, HDR WORKS PERFECT. This is so misleading. STAY AWAY.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can use this monitor with the Xbox. However, we suggest you look at the Dell Alienware range of monitors: https://bit.ly/3kKLXfr
