“Are there internal speakers with this monitor? If so, what is the sound quality like?”

No speakers on this guy. However, just like on new TV's, current monitor speakers sound terrible anyway. Personally, I've used the Klipsch Pro Media speakers for almost five years and they still sound great.
I would recommend:
