The SSD is a PM951 with est 1000mb/sec read and 700mb/sec write. It's roughly two to three times faster than traditional SATA SSD's. There is in fact an M.2 pci-e port in this laptop that can support the new SM951 SSD which is blazing by offering performance of over 2000mb/sec read and 1550mb/sec write! Swap the current SSD out for this and get nearly 5 times the performance of traditional SSD's. Incredible laptop.
