Technically this is not 4k, it is QHD+ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_display_resolution) which is slightly lower but the same aspect ratio. For battery consumption I think it depends on what you are doing - watching movies will drain more than doing emails for example. For a very rough example I did emails and read PDF documents for 4 hours and the battery was at more than 50%. I had the display at full brightness, was working on Wi-Fi, and didn't employ any special power saving modes. I purchased Model: XPS9365-700 SKU: 5709803.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am currently getting 3 - 8 hours depending on which applications I am using, and brightness setting. I would say this is acceptable, but this will drop rather dramatically over time as the battery ages.
