“How is the sound connected? I bought this Dell last week at Best Buy and cannot get sound; it keeps saying connect it--but how, and with what?”

On the rear IO Panel, there should be a light blue 1/8th inch stereo jack that is generally used to connect to powered speakers. If you don't have any speakers you will need to buy some. Some Dell models actually include them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just plugged in my speakers from my old PC and immediately had sound. If you already have a monitor with built-in speakers or another device attached that you want to hook up to, try right clicking on the speaker icon and go to "Sounds" and one of the tabs "Playback" will show you choices of available devices connected that you can click on. That is all the help I know to give. Hope it helps.
