From a hardware standpoint, if you have old hardware stay with the older OS. If you are getting a new machine it is time to accept change. The Windows 10 is an easy transition and runs well. I had a 10 year old Gigabit motherboard that was rendered useless by the big June 2017 windows 10 update.
