No need. You can store it in refrigerator to keep the milk fresh. There is another head you can insert for hot water.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, the milk container does not have to be attached to the unit when it is not in use. When unattached, the unit looks the same as the rest of the unit, with a small piece the milk frother attaches to. Thank you.

If not attached, all you will see is a short plastic bib with a rubber ring protruding on the front. The rest of the machine face matches the material of the machine - very sleek - not unsightly at all.
