Hello and thank you for you question. The receiver typically takes commands from the TV using HDMI control called CEC. Using the HDMI ARC input on your TV connected to the HDMI monitor out on the AVR-S650H. Be sure to turn on the HDMI control in both the TV and the receiver in settings. With FM playing, press the music button located towards the bottom or the remote under sound mode. Sound mode options should appear on the TV screen. Scroll down to Multi CH stereo. If TV is not on, press the music button a few times. The front display will show the sound modes as you cycle through.
