“I purchased this unit and have had it for 2 days-love it. The only problem I have is making it work with my Subwoofer. The sub has a traditional red and black thumb screw 'speaker' input. It is not powered. I have the RCA end plugged into the #1 out.”

Our AVRs will only work with a powered sub connected to the Subwoofer pre-outs. Aside from that, you can use an external amp to power the sub and connect the RCA cable from the AVR's Sub pre-out to the input of the external amp. You cannot connect a passive sub directly to the AVR.
