Your subwoofer will be connected to one of the RCA line level subwoofer jacks. You won't need a converter unless your video source does not support HDMI.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I too have a self powered subwoofer but mine came with bare wires and not a RCA jack. HDMI won't get you where you want to be. There is a pair of terminas on the back of the receiver for the subwoofer and you would need to connect to those. Instead of a RCA to HDMI adapter you should use a bare wire to female RCA speaker output adapter. If you connect to the subwoofer output terminal on the reciever you will be able to control it better using the setup menu or phone app.
