If the connection from the SNES to the AVR is component or composite and the output connection from the AVR to the TV is HDMI, then you will need to connect the SNES to the TV directly. This model does not support Video Conversion, which is the ability to take an analog (component, composite) video signal and output it as HDMI. That feature starts in our X4700H model.
