“If I have 4 inside speakers and 2 outside speakers all connected through the receiver, can I set up multiple zones to have them on at separate times. For example, I don’t want my outside speakers playing while I watch TV inside.”

Yes. The outside speakers are Zone 2. The inside are Zone 1. You then select with the remote or on the front of the AVR which Zone you want to be active. The labeling at each connector on the back of the AVR and the Denon set-up guide make this a very easy process. Here's a tip. Read the set-up instructions all the way thru before starting the set-up. It is very useful, even for someone like me that was only replacing one established 7.1 AVR unit with a better, newer one. I have been very pleased with both the audio and video thru this Denon AVR.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I have 5 speakers on the inside and 2 speakers on the outside. The outside I choose Zone 2. So, I can have my music playing outside and watch TV on the inside. I can just choose to have Zone 2 off or on. Hope this answers your question.
