It will power your speakers as described. How much it can ultimately offer is hard to predict. Impedance ratings only account for a mean or average reading. The impedance still has the potential to swing quite wildly (which is where it really tests how well an amplifier can cope with the load), depending on the source material, the volume level, and which speakers they are specifically. If you are in doubt, the AVR-X3700H is a good option, as it is a model which has pre-outs. This allows an external power amplifier to be added if the speakers in use prove to be more demanding than had been anticipated. The AVR-S960H has the ability to work well with most modern speakers for small to medium-sized rooms where the speakers chosen are a good match for the room size. A lot of it does depend your expectations. If you like to play at spirited volume levels, I would suggest moving further up in our receiver line to at least the AVR-X3700H. There are no specifications which point to accurate receiver/speaker-matching because there are too many other variables (room size, volume level desired, source material, user expectations, number of speakers driven - to name just a few of them).
