“What gauge size of wire should I use for 2 floor speakers? I know they use banana clips, but just need to know the correct gauge size of the wire. I recently purchased 2 Bowers & Wilkins 700 series speakers, but don't have any speaker wire!”

We recommend using anywhere between 12-16 AWG. Make sure the wire you use is shielded well.

Please try again later.I use 16 gauge wire on my klipsch floor standing speakers, but you should be able to use 14 or even 12 gauge as well if you want something a bit beefier to transfer the signal. I recommend copper as it’s a better conductor. You technically shouldn’t need banana clips, but they do make it easier to plug and unplug the wire if you’re planning on doing that. I linked what I have setup. Sadly I’m at work so I can’t link a picture of the rocketfish 16 gauge wire spool I have.
