• It gets warm. Make sure you have 3 inches of space on top for ventilation and it should be fine.

• It definitely runs warm easily. I wrote another answer that my Denon units routinely get to 112 -120 degrees F. Well ventilated cabinet is the way to go. If concerned you can always get an Aircom fan that sits on top venting air either to the front or back depending on the model you get..

• Yes, this receiver hotter than most receivers. I have it in a cabinet with a glass door and I usually keep the door open when in use.

• Mine is warm to the touch but not hot. The entire top is vented and I keep mine clear of obstructions. Very happy with my purchase.
