Both the Denon AVR-X4700H and 3800 have nine channels of amplification. If running seven speakers in the main zone, only two channels will be available. Either a speaker selector box or an external two-channel amplifier will be required. The 4700 provides three zones (Main plus two additional, whereas the 3800 provides two (Main plus one other). Considering the above information, both have the ability to play back radio and LP.
