Turns out that quite a few amplifiers can't process the DSD stream (even if their product descriptions say they can). Using the Analog Audio out from the unit works. Something I learned recently was, if you get nothing from either Analog or Digital outputs, unplug the unit for a couple of minutes (hard reset) and then plug it back in.
