Hello Jazz. Creating a virtual center channel with a 2 channel (or 2.1) audio system is all in the speaker placement. 2 channel audio systems have been creating a virtual center channel with music since stereo amplifiers were first introduced. For example - in a typical music album mix, the vocals sound as though they are coming from a virtual center channel if the speakers are positioned to achieve this. It works the same way for the dialog in a movie. If the speaker placement in your room not ideal for this, you have the option of purchasing the Dirac Live lisence which gives the Home Amp room correction software which can greatly enhance how well your speakers perform in your room.
