“I haven't used the sound bar in a long time and lost the power cable. I found a cable that fits but is not the original. It turns on and the subwoofer is working but no sound coming out of the sound bar. Would this have anything to do with the power cable”

I would say YES, since I'm having the same exact problem...have been looking for answers why would the sound come out of the subwoofer and not the soundbar; it must be the power adapter not having the right power output.
