A: Mine has also started to make a horrible hissing sound. It also makes it when I use the Bluetooth with no cables connected except the power lead. Also tried it in another room in case it was getting interference from the tv etc. PLEASE HELP!
Q: can you install the denon dht-s514 soundbar to a receiver instead of directly to the tv?
A: Why would you want or need to do that? This denon has a built in amp and comes with a powered subwoofer. That's the whole point, to directly connect it to your tv so you don't need a separate receiver and satellite speakers for sound.
Q: I bought a demon dht s514 the sound keep cut in and out ..how can I fix that
A: I had the same problem with it cutting in and out after 20 minutes of being on. Tried all sorts of things, but it was actually an overheating issue. I placed a small fan behind it and haven't had the issue since.
A: For the most part it handles dialogue very well. The only shows I have any difficulties with are those speaking the King's English (Outlander, Game of Thrones, etc), but then again that's not a new problem for me. In these cases I adjust to one of the other listening modes, or decrease volume on the sub-woofer.
Q: Is this soundbar expandable? Can you add rear speakers to it?
A: No additional speakers can be added. At startup, the unit automatically pairs with the wireless subwoofer.
Q: My new Denon DHT-S514 turns on by itself
A: Soundbar goes to sleep when you turn off your TV. When you turn on the TV, the soundbar wakes up.
A: I would say YES, since I'm having the same exact problem...have been looking for answers why would the sound come out of the subwoofer and not the soundbar; it must be the power adapter not having the right power output.
Q: How far can you place the subwoofer from the soundbar before experiencing connectivity issues?
A: I have my subwoofer about 6ft away and works great right when I go a little over it starts to have issues.
