• The instructions say it should be only directly into the wall but I have mine in a power strip.

• Works with a power strip as long not plug with high power equipment like computer and stuff

• I would only plug into a wall outlet for safety reasons. I would only use a thicker and heavy duty power cord of maybe six (6) feet with enough amps to safely carry the load.
