Had a similar prob with a Samsung tablet - speaker worked fine then I used earbuds and the speakers no longer played after I removed the plug. So I stuck a small qtip or something similar in and jiggled it, then blew air in the earplug hole. After that, the tablet played through the speaker. I suspect a little bit of something was stuck in there (though I never saw anything) and the tablet "thought" there was a connector in there and disabled the speaker. Who knows. Worth a try.
