If the app(s) supported by your local public library for checking out books is available on the Google Play Store, then you can download it from there and use it on this tablet. For example, many public libraries allow you to download and/or stream books, magazines, videos and music through apps such as Hoopla, Odilo, Overdrive, Zinio, and RBdigital. All of those apps, as well as the Amazon Kindle app, are available at the Google Play Store and are compatible with this tablet.
