Stefanie, after I charged the Canon battery pack that came with my Canon SX620 HS camera for the first time I, too, got a message telling me it wasn't a genuine Canon battery pack, then it would shut off. I bought the camera at Best Buy. When it asked for an answer the next time I just started selecting the opposite of what I first selected, then it accepts the pack and doesn't shut off, but it says usage is at my own risk. Cannot remember what the choices were at this time. No idea what's going on, but since Best Buy no longer sells the genuine Canon battery pack I'm going to buy this one as a back up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It worked for about a week in the Canon Powershot SX720HS, but it started working inconsistently after about 2 weeks even after being fully charged. The Canon camera would popup with a message asking a question. The camera would shut off with a message saying the battery wasn't genuine or to check it. I would pop the original canon battery inside instead and the camera would work fine. I think the battery has issues.
