“I bought an Olympus Li42B Refuel travel charger....My battery is not charging...Can a battery be completely dead and are the gold dots suppose to lineup on the charger??? Thank you, Darla Holt”

Gold dots MUST lineup in charger.

A battery can be completely dead It is possible the battery is in backwards though. The display will flash when in wrong. It will shows the bars increasing as it flashes when it is in properly. Be sure the side of the battery with the brand Olympus is facing downwards and that the gold dots are inwards.

try switching the battery around, the charger works with a number of batteries.

You should not let Lithium batteries go completely dead, (no less than 5%) it shortens the life of the battery. The pins in the charger and battery contacts must align. Left side in battery slot. Olympus batteries have a black line with arrows indicating battery contacts.
