Dear customer, Thank you for your inquiry. You can fly the drone without an internet connection after activating the drone. However, it is suggested to fly with an internet connection in case you would need to load the maps or unlock a geo zone, etc. Should you need any further assistance, please feel free to contact our DJI support at http://www.dji.com/support, We are always here to help. Best Regards, DJI Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I can use an old iPhone 5S that doesn't have a cellular contract. The phone uses the satellites from the DJI controller and you can use it. I also use my older iPad and since it connects to the DJI wifi/Bluetooth you don't have to have a service provider.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need a cell signal to operate, but you will need to update the firmware on wifi and lose some google map ability when flying.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Shouldn't be a problem, as long as you have internet connection at home for firmware updates and such.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you do not need cell service or the internet to fly but caution you will not have maps unless you cache them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes but you will have no maps. You do not need a active cellphone service or the internet to fly but you won’t have any maps. The drone and the controller has its own GPS.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as you have WiFi yes
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Should work just fine as it's GPS based. I typically fly my Air 2s with my iPad Air 4 (Wi-Fi only model).
